B&B ITALIA RELAUNCH AT SPACE FURNITURE

Space Furniture welcomed key clients and media to their Sydney Showroom to share and celebrate their brand new interpretation of the iconic brand across the new B&B Italia floor. Space is known throughout the world for their inspirational showrooms and architect designed interior spaces created specifically to house their collection of the world’s best interiors brands. They use the simplest of items like the cheap vanity stool and make it fit perfectly in the house, as though it was designed for that very purpose. The newly re- vamped B&B Italia floor will showcase a shared vision of both teams from B&B Italia in Italy and at Space – a local interpretation of B&B Italia’s global creative direction. Inspired by B&B Italia’s recently refurbished Madison Avenue store, the renovation includes many of the ingredients that makes B&B Italia fit outs so inspiring – from the wallpapers, metal mesh details, and use of visual imagery, offering a true B&B Italia experience within the Space environment.

B&B Italia has placed itself as a leading contemporary furniture design brand since its launch in 1966, achieving international acclaim as a representative of Italian design. In 2016, Space celebrated a milestone in the making of the iconic brand with B&B Italia’s 50th birthday at the Museum of Contemporary Art. The occasion took a moment to review B&B Italia’s history, the influence they have had on the industry, how
they have driven research and developed technology that has shaped the industry, as well as led the way with iconic imagery in their advertising which reflected the zeitgeist of the times.

The re-launch of the floor, however, will also look to celebrate what B&B Italia means now and for the future. “We’re always looking to continually inspire and be creative with our spaces and we’re excited to reveal the new floor, which is a testament to our collaborative approach in working with B&B Italia and our ongoing partnership with the iconic brand”, says Christina Caredes, CEO of Space Furniture.

The night saw the unveiling of some new pieces launched at Milan Fair this year, including the sculptural new Eda-mame designed by Piero Lissoni, and the re-release of the much loved Alanda coffee table – an iconic piece that ushered in the 1980s, which has been revisited in homage to Paolo Piva, the great architect and designer who passed away last year.
