Melbourne’s largest skyscraper project, Melbourne Square, officially launched this week, celebrating what will become a prominent gateway precinct – and new green heart for Southbank.
The launch of Melbourne Square on Thursday 5th October in conjunction with the development’s display suite, involved guests experiencing ‘A Day in the Life’ at Melbourne Square. The event took inspiration from the development’s central location and reflected the project’s innovative design and connection to Melbourne’s relaxed lifestyle.
‘A Day in the Life’ at Melbourne Square recreated the city’s much loved laneways with a focus on the foodie culture, something which Melbourne is renowned for. A selection of Melbourne restaurant and bar ‘pop ups’ from iconic hot spots such as Chin Chin, Movida, Rosetta and Saké Bar & Restaurant served a selection
of their signature dishes – spanner crab betal leaf, Hiramasa kingfish with lime and jalapeno koshu and seafood paella. Eau de Vie and Boilermaker House, two of Melbourne’s much loved cocktail masters served a number of their speciality drinks. Guests will satisfy their dessert cravings with savoury and sweet options from Gelato Messina and cheese specialists Maker & Monger.
The project was developed by OSK Property and designed by Cox Architecture, Melbourne Square will transform a former carpark the size of the MCG into a vertical village featuring six towers over 72 levels, within a network of elevated gardens.
Key to the project will be the 3,700sqm landscaped public park, elevated to maximise sunlight and occupying more than 20 per cent of the overall site, as well as stylish apartment interiors by Carr Design. Planned as a dynamic mixed-use community and retail centre, the development connects the bustling CBD streets to the tranquil grounds of the Royal Botanic Gardens, centrally positioned to enjoy the very best of Melbourne living.
